She is "wearing death". She has a gold background and two little spirits guiding her. She wears death as a symbol of all those who have passed on before her and reminds her to live life to the fullest each day.

one of my favorite halloween movies..

There is a little witch in every woman...

A Halloween or fall season can't go by without me seeing one of my favorite be-witching movies, Practical Magic. I love this movie and had to watch it today! Every time I watch it, its like the very first time.
If you don't know about it, or haven't seen it, I highly recommend it...

The movie revolves two sisters, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. An unlikely pair, but it actually works very well. The women in their family, has a spell on them that went awry and becomes a family curse: Any man that falls in love with an Owens woman dies.

The two sisters have unfortunate circumstances and have to move in with their aunts, who are kooky, fun, and teach the girls all about the craft.

I wont spoil all the fun (and sadness) in between, but definitely, something I recommend you watching:)

Happy Day of the Dead..Dia de los Muertos

In honor of Day of the Dead, I wanted to show you one of my Dead of the Dead paintings. "Follow me Home". The little girl is holding crosses and marigolds. She painted her face like a little skull and she visits the cemetary to make a trail of marigolds so that the spirits can follow her home...

Today is the day that many people celebrate the departed, the loved ones who have crossed over. They return on the Day of the Dead and enjoy festivities with the living. Their favorite food, flowers, clothing and items are displayed on an alter, like above, with their images.

It is said if you leave a trail of marigolds from their grave to your home, that they will be able to find their way back home...don't forget to leave a trail.....

Papier-Mache Black Cat

1. Paste two or three layers of black crepe paper to a balloon. The dye runs and stains easily, so wear gloves and cover your work surface with newspaper

2. Remove a circle from one end to make a base.

Cut out features, and use tape to secure white and black card stock inside. For the candy dish, cut out lid, and then cut two wedges from it. Use masking tape to secure wedges to cat; cover with crepe paper to make ears.

3. Use craft glue to affix card stock inside the bottom of the form; cover exterior with crepe paper to hide hole in base. For standing cat, don't cut a lid. Set the head on a large balloon.

Have fun filling it with Candy!
